REM 700 RUCKUS TACTICAL SHORT ACTIONS RIGHT HAND. On actions with the one thread of relief cut, I'll make a relief cut on the barrel to prevent the thread from interfering with the barrel shouldering up and the threads centering. Brownells is your source for DEFIANCE MACHINE at Brownells parts and accessories.

Going in and cutting a relief cut on the barrel made a barrel that wouldn't shoot go to shooting. I've seen that cause problems as the barrel seems to tighten correctly, but don't.

The Surgeon actions have the same thing, one thread of relief cut.
Defiance actions manual#
When you are cutting threads on a manual machine, two threads of relief lets you not have to cut as close to the shoulder when pulling out of the barrel thread. The only thing I would change on them is to have two threads of relief cut at the front of the action instead of the one they have. I looked at the action specs that I had recorded from the custom actions that I had barreled and the few Defiance actions that I had barreled were 1 1/16"-16 threads. One thing they do have that I like is more extraction camming than the action Glenn made when he was in Poulsbo and later Sturgis. I'll look tomorrow and see if I had the thread specs recorded on a Defiance benchrest action. I've done some Defiance actions that had coned bolts, but don't remember what they were, but would figure that they were 1 1/16-18 threads. I have a Stryker Ridge made by Defiance that is a Remington clone. Iam planning more of a ligher Weight go anywhere kind of outfit probably a 9.Richard, it probably depends upon the model of action. Im curious to hear what people think about my excitement, hahaha, my wife can’t stand me “chatting“ about it…x) so I thought Id talk to someone who might care x) Iam planning more of a ligher Weight go anywhere kind of outfit probably a 9.3圆2…alternative knowing me…might end up as a 400 Whelen…something “eye-catching“ Not to mention, the Remington footprint will allow for lots of stock options, Wyatt’s mag box extra length, & many quality trigger options too! …yes, it lacks the provenance as an “African” rifle, but I think that it will make a cool build! It is no doubt quality! can be had with a wing style safety too… in this safari world, or any world where “it matters,” crf is the thing to have!Įnter the defiance action in crf…. Seems to me that the custom action world is significantly smaller when using crf actions. No doubt using a historical Mauser or something with some ‘soul’ is definitely cool for packing around! The history in ones hand is something that can “touch your soul” & I understand why so many go this route… I feel like it’s totally untapped mrkt to have a custom built rifle setup as a “DG” RIFLE (what I would consider dg) utilizing defiance machine action…maybe there is a reason for that…

So does anyone have any experience with the crf option from defiance? So I don’t know if it’s a “true” controlled feed or if it is the type where the claw snaps over the rim when the cartridge is chambered…i assume the later, but not sure. I spec’d a rebel action with their sheep hunter port, rem 700 long std bolt face, with a crf claw extractor… I don’t know how I never have seen this action, or “option“ for that matter, but they offer a crf “claw” option on some of their actions…. Hey, just got off the phone with defiance machine, so I’m all excited…Īs you’re probably aware they are a premiere builder of actions, rem 700 footprint based, mostly seen in the LR communit (is my experience)
